Penhalwyn Trekking Centre is a family-run equestrian centre in Cornwall catering to both adults and children from the age of four. The centre runs a regular programme of riding lessons alongside group and private hacks across the local countryside, giving riders the chance to develop their flatwork, show jumping and cross country skills under instruction.
The centre is set up to take complete beginners as well as more experienced riders. Lessons cover flatwork, show jumping and hacking, and the team also runs pony day experiences and birthday parties for younger visitors. Group lessons are priced from GBP 32 per hour, with private lessons at GBP 42 per 55 minutes and private hacks from GBP 38 per hour. On-site competitions and fun days are held throughout the year for those who want to put their skills into practice.
Facilities include an indoor riding arena and outdoor rubber sand schools, so training can continue regardless of the weather. A full set of show jumps is available in the arenas, and riders can also make use of a cross-country course with portable fences. Stabling is provided for liveries, and horses are turned out in on-site paddocks. There is parking for visitors, an on-site cafe for hot drinks and light food, and electric and water hook-ups for those arriving by horsebox or trailer.
Penhalwyn Trekking Centre is open seven days a week from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with full livery packages available for owners wanting their horse kept on the premises. The centre is licensed and operates alongside current safety standards. Anyone interested in booking lessons, arranging a hack or enquiring about livery can contact the centre directly by phone or email to check availability.
