Lessons at Becky Jackson Horse Riding take place at Anchor Stables in Kentford, a small village just outside Newmarket. The school caters to riders of all ages and abilities, with teaching available for complete beginners through to more experienced riders. Group lessons and private sessions are both offered, and hacks out from the yard provide an alternative to arena-based work for those wanting to experience riding in the open countryside.
Children are welcome, and the school runs fun days during school holidays alongside its regular lesson programme. Hat hire is available on site, which is useful for newcomers who do not yet own their own equipment. For riders who want to learn more about the day-to-day side of keeping a horse, horse care courses and stable management courses are also available, covering topics such as feeding, grooming and general care.
The facilities centre on a floodlit outdoor arena, allowing lessons to continue during shorter winter days and into the evenings. Day stables are available for visiting horses, and there is on-site car parking for clients arriving by car. Hacking is the main discipline on offer, taking advantage of the bridleways and quiet roads around Kentford and the surrounding Suffolk countryside.
Becky Jackson Horse Riding is accredited by the Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) and holds a licence issued by West Suffolk County Council. Prices start from GBP 27 for a 30 minute beginner group lesson. Anyone interested in booking or finding out more should contact Anchor Stables in Kentford directly.
