Barrow Hall Stables operates from a rural setting outside Bury Saint Edmunds in Suffolk and holds 5-star licensing through West Suffolk Council. The yard sits on the British Horse Society approved register and is a long established training venue serving riders across East Anglia. Lessons are open to adults and children, with structured group, semi-private and private formats running alongside hacking, stable management sessions and cross country training.
Beginners are welcomed alongside more experienced riders, and the school runs a Pony Care Club and Saddle Club for younger learners. Birthday parties can be arranged at the yard, and pony rides are available for those wanting a shorter visit. Riders working towards BHS qualifications can take advantage of in-house training, and National Diploma candidates are also supported on site. In-house shows and competitions give clients regular opportunities to put their lessons into practice.
Facilities include outdoor arenas, a show jumping paddock, an all-weather canter track and a cross country training paddock with a full course, supported by on-site stabling. The school teaches dressage, show jumping, cross country, gymkhana and hacking, allowing riders to develop across a broad range of disciplines. Hacking is offered on local routes once riders have completed an assessment, with the assessment itself costing from GBP 15. Group lessons start from GBP 24 for 30 minutes.
Additional accreditations beyond the BHS approval include listing with the ABRS. The postcode for sat-nav users is IP29 5AY, placing the yard within easy reach of Bury Saint Edmunds and the surrounding Suffolk villages. Contact details can be obtained directly through the school for enquiries about lessons, livery availability or upcoming events.
