Snailriver Horse Drawn Carriage Co provides horse-drawn carriage services and driving tuition across East Anglia. Lessons are offered in carriage driving, cones, dressage, driving trials and scurry, covering the main competitive disciplines used in the sport. Beginners are welcome, and children can be taught alongside adults, making the school a practical option for families looking to learn together.
The school caters to a wide range of occasions. Wedding carriage hire, funeral carriage hire and prom carriage hire are offered as standard services, while seasonal options include Christmas themed carriage rides and Father Christmas deliveries. Corporate days can be arranged for groups, and the school hosts driving competitions for those who wish to put their training into practice. Lessons extend beyond private tuition to horse breaking to drive, helping owners prepare young or inexperienced horses for harness work.
One of the distinguishing features of Snailriver is its adapted carriage for wheelchair users, allowing accessibility for clients or students who might otherwise be unable to take part. The combination of instruction, hire services and competition hosting means the business operates as both a training centre and an events provider. Carriage and harness sales form an additional strand of the work, supporting owners who need equipment for their own driving horses.
Tuition is delivered by a British Driving Society Light Harness Horse instructor, reflecting a recognised qualification within the carriage driving community. The school draws clients from across East Anglia for lessons, events and bespoke bookings. Those interested in arranging lessons, booking a carriage for a wedding, funeral or prom, or enquiring about adapted carriage hire should contact Snailriver Horse Drawn Carriage Co directly to discuss availability and requirements.
