Lower Tokenbury Equestrian Centre has been established since 1969 and operates as a family-run ABRS approved riding school set on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. The centre has served as a Pony Club centre for many years and runs regular pony club rallies, alongside British Eventing training days and hunter trials. Riders can take lessons on the school's own horses or bring their own horse for instruction, with group and individual sessions available across a range of disciplines.
The school caters to beginners and children as well as more experienced riders, with child group lessons priced from GBP 30. Holiday camps run during school breaks, and a programme of pony club activities supports younger riders working through their tests. Disciplines taught and practiced on site include dressage, show jumping, eventing, cross country and polocrosse, giving riders a broad base to work from. Hacking is available on surrounding wood and farmland, taking advantage of the Cornish countryside around Bodmin Moor.
Facilities include a menage fitted with arena mirrors, a grass show jumping arena, dedicated dressage arenas, a full cross country course and a mini cross country course suitable for younger or less experienced riders. The cross country course is also available to hire, and schooling livery is offered for horses kept on site. British Eventing training days are hosted periodically, providing competitive riders with structured cross country and eventing coaching.
The centre is licensed and approved by the ABRS, and holds Pony Club centre status. Visitors are strictly by appointment only, so anyone wishing to book lessons, arrange livery or hire the cross country course should contact the school directly to arrange a visit. Lower Tokenbury is based in Cornwall in the South West of England, within reach of the wider Bodmin Moor riding area.
