Burley Villa School Of Riding

New Milton, Hampshire

BHS approved

Set on the edge of the New Forest, Burley Villa School of Riding in New Milton, Hampshire, provides English and Western riding lessons alongside hacking, Pony Club activities and children's riding experiences. The school holds a position on the British Horse Society approved register and is also a British Pony Club centre and a member of the Western Equestrian Society.

Lessons are open to children and adults, including complete beginners, and the timetable covers a broad range of disciplines: dressage, show jumping, English riding, Western riding and forest trail riding. Schooling and training livery is offered alongside full livery, and the school hosts dressage competitions, camps, clinics and BHS training courses and exams. Pony Club members can take part in regular activities, and children's riding experiences give younger riders a structured introduction.

The facilities include a 48m x 25m floodlit all-weather outdoor arena and a 60m x 20m indoor arena with a viewing gallery, allowing lessons to continue in poor weather or after dark. A horse walker, round pen, tack rooms, mains electric fencing and CCTV are on site, along with a tea room, toilets and changing room. Direct access onto the New Forest opens up hacking straight from the yard, and there is parking for cars, lorries and trailers.

Burley Villa is licensed by New Forest District Council. Prices start from GBP 44 for 30-minute Pony Trails and Lessons. Phones are answered Monday and Tuesday from 10am to 4pm and Wednesday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm; the school is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays except Bank Holidays.
