Hern Gate Farm

Fordingbridge, Hampshire

BHS approved

Hern Gate Farm sits within the New Forest National Park on the edge of Fordingbridge, Hampshire, and operates as a family-run livery yard with a clear emphasis on horse care and rider development. The yard is listed on the British Horse Society approved register and is licensed by New Forest District Council. Riders and owners can choose from full livery, grazing-only arrangements and retirement livery, alongside a schooling service for horses that need regular work between competitions or outings.

The school offers tuition in dressage, show jumping and hacking, with lessons available on a regular basis. A BD Team Quest dressage team is run from the yard, giving competitive riders a ready-made group to train and compete with. Training and breaking services are also available for younger or restarter horses, and the staff provide schooling on behalf of owners who want their horses kept ticking over.

Facilities centre on a 20m x 40m floodlit outdoor polytrack menage, fitted with dressage markers, poles and showjumps. An equine solarium is available on site, along with alarmed tack rooms and CCTV coverage across the yard. Practical additions include field shelters, a toilet for clients, and trailer and lorry parking for those arriving with their own transport.

Hacking is a core part of the Hern Gate Farm experience, with direct access onto the open forest and its network of tracks and gravel paths. The combination of secure livery, an outdoor floodlit arena, on-site training and Forest hacking makes the yard a practical base for riders in the Fordingbridge area. Anyone interested in livery, lessons or training can contact the yard directly to discuss availability and current arrangements.
