Catherston Stud operates as a sport horse stud and 5* livery yard in Stockbridge, Hampshire, drawing on generations of experience in producing competition horses. The yard is run with input from resident international riders and caters to riders across dressage, show jumping, eventing and showing. Lessons are available from GBP 40 for a 45 minute session with Anne Dicker or Charlotte Dicker.
Livery packages are wide ranging and include full, part, schooling, hunter, retirement and grass options. Stud services cover natural covering, chilled and frozen AI, embryo transfer and foaling, with purpose built foaling boxes on site. The yard also offers backing of young horses, competition training and assistance with horse sales, making it a practical choice for owners at various stages from weaning through to retirement.
Riders benefit from a 60x20m indoor dressage arena complete with lights and mirrors, alongside a 60x25m outdoor arena with show jumps. American barn stabling, individual turnout paddocks, a covered horse walker and a covered lunge pen support the daily routine. Heated tack rooms, a client and staff tea room, a function room and viewing area, CCTV throughout and horsebox and trailer parking add to the working environment.
Hacking is available from the yard and the surrounding Hampshire countryside. The school holds BHS approval, appears on the British Horse Society approved register, and staff hold BD UKCC Level 3, BHSI and FBHS qualifications. Enquiries can be directed to the yard at SO20 8HX.
