SJ Equestrian Riding Centre

SJ Equestrian Riding Centre is based in Warsill, a small village near Harrogate in North Yorkshire, and operates within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The centre runs a wide range of equestrian activities, including horse riding lessons, guided hacking and pony trekking, full livery, pony parties, school holiday events and an established Pony Club branch.

Riding instruction is delivered by British Horse Society registered instructors and caters to a broad range of riders. Beginners and children are welcome, with group and family lessons available alongside private bookings. Lessons cover flatwork, dressage and show jumping, and the centre offers preparation towards BHS stages training. Loan horses and ponies are also available for those who do not own their own.

Facilities at the yard include a sizeable indoor riding school, an outdoor jumping paddock and a show jumping field, along with a course of cross country schooling fences set against the surrounding Nidderdale countryside. The stables and turnout fields support the livery service, and the hacking routes take in the scenery of the protected landscape.

Private lessons start from GBP 30 for a 20 minute session, and gift vouchers are offered for lessons and other experiences. SJ Equestrian is licensed by North Yorkshire Council. The centre is open seven days a week from 10am to 6pm and is located at postcode HG3 3LH, easily reached from Harrogate, Pateley Bridge and the wider Yorkshire area.
