Scropton Riding For The Disabled Centre

Scropton Riding for the Disabled Centre is an accessible riding school and RDA group based in Derby, Staffordshire, operating under the umbrella of Riding for the Disabled UK. The centre offers equestrian activities with horses for adults and children of all abilities, with a stated focus on health, wellbeing and sport. Lessons are open to riders across a wide range of experience levels, and the school also runs own horse lessons for those who bring their own mount to the centre.

The centre's services extend well beyond standard riding lessons. Riders can take part in showjumping, join horse clubs and attend school holiday activity camps. The school also hosts clinics, supports fundraising through car boot sales on site, and offers a practical rug washing service. Arena hire is available, making the facilities usable by outside instructors or groups who need quality surfaces for their own sessions.

Facilities include both an indoor arena and an outdoor arena, allowing lessons to continue throughout the year regardless of weather. The site is set up to be accessible, which is consistent with the centre's work with riders of all abilities. Scropton Riding for the Disabled Centre is licensed by South Derbyshire District Council and is listed on the British Horse Society approved register, giving it dual recognition as both a BHS approved riding school and an RDA member group.

Practical details for visitors include the Derby, Staffordshire location, which places the centre within reach of surrounding villages in the West Midlands region. Families, beginners, returning riders and anyone looking for inclusive horse riding sessions can contact the centre directly to enquire about lesson availability, holiday camp dates, clinic bookings or arena hire. Those wishing to confirm current session times, pricing and group or private lesson options should get in touch with the centre before arranging a visit.
