Ingestre Stables

Stafford, Staffordshire

BHS approved

Ingestre Stables is a British Horse Society approved equestrian centre in Stafford, Staffordshire. The yard runs riding lessons alongside the full range of BHS training courses, including BHS Stage 1 to 4, BHS Workshop Days, BHSI training and FBHS preparation. Two BHS Fellows are based at the centre, giving students access to coaching from instructors at the highest level of the BHS qualification structure.

The centre welcomes beginners and caters for riders working towards more advanced goals. Group lessons and shared or private lessons are available, and the site also runs residential summer holiday camps. Disciplines taught include dressage, show jumping, eventing and cross country, making it a practical choice for riders who want a broad education rather than a narrow specialism. Training mirrors are fitted in the arenas to help riders work on their position.

The facilities are extensive for a riding school. The main stable block holds 34 boxes, and riders have use of an indoor arena, an outdoor dressage arena, a floodlit outdoor arena, a lunge pen, an outdoor jump paddock and a cross country field. An outdoor cross country arena adds a further schooling option. Facility hire is available for those bringing their own horses, with the outdoor dressage arena listed at GBP 20 per hour for one horse.

Ingestre Stables is located on the Ingestre Park estate near Stafford in the West Midlands, with the postcode ST18 0RE. The centre is a BHS approved centre run by BHS Fellows, and bursaries are offered for student training. Enquiries about lessons, courses, camps or arena hire can be made directly to the yard.
