Passenger's Farm

Surrey

Ashdown Forest Riding Centre is based on Ashdown Forest in East Sussex and operates as both a riding school and a trekking centre. Riders can take lessons in the centre's 60 metre by 20 metre outdoor arena, or head out onto the forest on guided hacks, group hacks or private hacks. The centre also organises beach rides for those looking for a longer day out in the saddle.

Lessons are open to beginners as well as more experienced riders, and the centre teaches children as well as adults. Cross country, hacking, show jumping and trekking are all offered as disciplines. Prices start from GBP 40 for a 30 minute private lesson, and the centre provides riding lessons, pony days and pony parties, with birthday parties available for younger riders. Horse riding vouchers and horse loan or share arrangements are also available.

The setting on Ashdown Forest gives direct access to extensive off-road hacking, while onsite facilities include a picnic area and stabling. Holiday cabins on site allow visitors to stay over and combine riding sessions with time in the surrounding countryside. A collection service from East Grinstead train station is offered for those arriving by public transport.

Ashdown Forest Riding Centre holds a licence from Wealden and Rother District Council and is listed as accessible. Those interested in booking lessons, hacks or pony days, or in enquiring about the holiday cabins, can get in touch with the centre directly for further details.
