Badshot Lea Equestrian Centre is a riding school and livery yard in Badshot Lea, a small village just outside Farnham in Surrey. The centre provides instruction across a wide ability range, taking riders from their first sitting on a pony through to advanced competitors. Disciplines taught on site include dressage, show jumping, eventing, arena eventing and gymkhana, giving pupils a varied education under one roof.
Lessons are open to children and adults, and the school keeps its doors open to complete beginners as well as those returning to riding after time away. Children's riding forms a significant part of the programme, with a Pony Club centre status confirmed and structured holiday camps running during school breaks. The 'own a pony' days give younger riders a more involved experience, covering care and handling as well as ridden work. Equine sports massage and horse schooling services are offered alongside the ridden programme, which is useful for owners wanting extra support for their own horses.
Arena schooling and hacking are both available, with the Surrey countryside providing off-road routes directly accessible from the centre. The on-site facilities include an arena for flatwork and jumping sessions, together with car parking for visitors and liveries. Full and working livery services are run from the yard for owners who want their horse based permanently at the school, allowing them to make use of the coaching on site.
Badshot Lea Equestrian Centre holds British Horse Society approved status and is licensed by Waverley Borough Council, meeting the regulatory and welfare standards expected of an established riding establishment. Prices for the centre start at GBP 25 for the kids walking out option, with private half-hour lessons for children priced from GBP 52. Anyone interested in booking lessons, finding out about livery spaces or joining the Pony Club branch can contact the centre directly using the postcode GU9 9HY for directions to the yard near Farnham.
