Valley Farm Equestrian Centre Ltd is a long-standing family-run yard on the Surrey-Banbury border, listed on the British Horse Society approved register. Set in the village of Shotteswell, the centre caters to riders of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners taking their first lessons to more experienced competitors working on their technique. Children are particularly well supported, with dedicated children's camps and structured Pony Club activities running through the school holidays and across the term.
The riding school offers instruction across a wide range of disciplines, including dressage, showjumping, cross country, combined training, gymkhana and hacking. Riders can take regular lessons, attend jumping sessions or sign up for clinics, while those wanting to enjoy the surrounding countryside can head out on organised hacks. In-house competitions give pupils the chance to put their training into practice in a familiar setting, and birthday parties are also catered for on site.
Facilities include both an indoor and a floodlit outdoor arena, allowing lessons to continue regardless of the weather or time of year. A cross country field, round pen, horse walker and a stock of showjumps round out the training options, while rubber matting in key areas adds to the safety of the setup. A coffee shop provides a comfortable spot for parents and spectators, and the hard standing car park makes arrivals straightforward. Full stabling, paddocks and a tackroom support the livery side of the business, with packages available for owners wanting their horses kept on site.
The yard is open from Tuesday to Sunday, closing on Mondays, with extended hours on Wednesdays and Fridays. It operates under a licence from Stratford-upon-Avon District Council and holds Pony Club centre status alongside its BHS approval. The postcode is OX17 1HZ. Anyone interested in lessons, livery, pony club membership or upcoming events should contact Valley Farm Equestrian Centre Ltd directly for current availability, pricing and booking details.
