Oaklands Riding School and livery yard sits on the edge of Exeter in Devon, drawing on a herd of more than fifty riding school horses and ponies to support a wide teaching programme. Riders can book private, shared or group lessons, with the option to focus on dressage, show jumping or hacking out on local routes. Lessons begin from GBP 28 for a half hour group session aimed at riders aged three to twelve, and the school welcomes complete beginners as well as more experienced children and adults.
The site is listed on the British Horse Society approved register and operates as both a Pony Club centre and a Riding for the Disabled Association member, which shapes much of what is on offer. Group pony club activities run alongside regular lessons, and during Devon school holidays the yard hosts mini pony days giving younger riders a chance to spend time handling and riding. Birthday parties are also available, with the staff putting together sessions around the group's age and ability.
Facilities centre on a floodlit sand school, an indoor school for year round riding, and a jumping paddock for those working on poles and courses. On site parking and stabling support both the riding school and the full livery service. Dressage clinics and jumping clinics are scheduled through the year, and gift vouchers are available for lessons and experiences.
The yard is licensed by Exeter City Council and operates from postcode EX2 9JB in South West England. The office is open from 9am until 5pm for enquiries about lessons, livery, pony club membership, holiday activities, RDA sessions and birthday party bookings. Visitors are encouraged to call ahead to discuss availability and to arrange a first visit.
