North Farm Stud Ltd operates a British Horse Society approved 5 star livery yard near Wantage in West Berkshire, with a clear focus on the thoroughbred. Day-to-day work covers breeding, breaking, pre-training and retraining of ex-racehorses, alongside sales preparation for clients bringing horses to market. Competition livery and post-operative care and rehabilitation are also part of the regular service, supported by staff experienced in handling young and recovering horses.
Lessons are offered at the yard for children, with instruction covering dressage, show jumping and competition riding. The HEROS education programme runs on site and provides riding-based sessions for children with special educational needs, making the yard a working environment that mixes schooling, education and rehabilitation. Hacking is available from the property, giving riders a route out beyond the arenas when conditions allow.
Facilities include an indoor arena and a floodlit outdoor arena, plus a lunging and breaking shed for handling youngstock. Stabling is backed by a horse walker, isolation yards for incoming or unwell horses, CCTV coverage, a viewing gallery above the indoor school, and both a horsebox and horse transport service for moving horses to and from the yard. Disiplines practised at the centre include dressage, show jumping, racing and the retraining of ex-racehorses.
