Riding lessons at Little Hidden Farm run on a 150-acre farm in West Berkshire, located between Hungerford and the M4. The school caters to riders of all ages and abilities, with instruction available for complete beginners through to more experienced riders who want to sharpen their technique. Lessons are offered both in groups and as private sessions, with flatwork, polework, dressage, show jumping and cross country all part of the teaching programme.
The lesson structure is reinforced by a range of structured sessions beyond the saddle. Stable management sessions teach the practical side of looking after a horse, while ground work sessions allow riders to build confidence on the lead rein and from the ground. Pony days, skills days, masterclasses and summer camps run throughout the holidays, and work experience placements are available for those considering a career with horses. Hacks on the surrounding countryside are offered for riders who want to take to the bridleways.
Facilities on site include stabling and paddocks set within the working farm. The grounds give scope for schooling across the disciplines taught, including eventing preparation for riders working towards competitions. Birthday parties and corporate events can also be hosted, giving groups a chance to meet the ponies and take part in hands-on activities.
The riding school is licensed and operates from Monday to Wednesday 8:00am to 7:00pm, Thursday 8:00am to 6:30pm and Saturday 8:00am to 6:00pm, closing on Fridays and Sundays. The office is open Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Prices start from GBP 15 for a half-hour semi-private stable management or ground work session, charged per person for groups of up to three.
