Hartwell Riding Stables

Set on Foxglove Farm in the village of Dinton near Aylesbury, Hartwell Riding Stables is a family-run centre that has been welcoming riders for many years. The school offers private and semi-private lessons alongside structured pony days, three and five day pony camps and residential pony camps during the school holidays. Riders can choose tuition in flatwork, show jumping and mounted games, with instruction available for complete beginners as well as more experienced children and adults.

The facilities include both an indoor arena and a floodlit outdoor arena measuring 20 metres by 60 metres, allowing lessons to continue in most weather conditions and into the evening. Training mirrors and a viewing platform are provided so that riders can monitor their position while parents and spectators watch safely. Stable management sessions are offered alongside riding, giving younger riders an understanding of horse care, grooming and tack.

Hartwell is a BHS approved centre and holds a licence issued by Buckinghamshire County Council. Birthday parties can be arranged at the stables, with riding and pony themed activities tailored to the group. Lessons start from GBP 55 for a thirty minute semi-private session per rider, and private lessons and stable management are available at additional rates on application.

The school is located at HP17 8TY and is open Monday to Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 7pm, Thursday from 1pm to 5pm, and across the weekend from 8am to 6pm, although times may vary.
