Happy Valley Equestrian Centre

Happy Valley Equestrian Centre is a small, family-run riding school in Shoreham-by-Sea that has been established for over 50 years. ABRS approved, the centre operates under a five-star higher standards licence and is staffed by BHS qualified instructors. Lessons are geared towards beginners and younger riders, with group sessions held after school and at weekends.

The centre teaches children and welcomes riders who are new to horses. Group hacking and private hacking are available for more established riders, offering the chance to ride out on the South Downs. Hat hire is provided on site, and instructors take regular riders out on guided hacks across the surrounding countryside.

Set in West Sussex on the south coast, the centre benefits from direct access to bridleways leading up onto the Downs, which makes it a practical choice for those who want to progress from arena work to open hacking. The family-run setup keeps group sizes small, and the team focuses on building confidence in younger and less experienced riders before they move on to longer rides.

Riding lessons start from GBP 30 for a 30-minute beginner group lesson (Level 1). The centre is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 and at weekends from 10:00 to 16:00. Happy Valley Equestrian Centre is located in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, postcode BN43 5LW, and is licensed and ABRS approved. Enquiries can be made directly with the centre.
