Lessons at The Stables at Cissbury take place on a working riding school set within the Cissbury Estate, with hacking routes leading directly onto the South Downs. Riders can choose group or private lessons, with child group sessions starting at GBP 30, a 30 minute private at GBP 50, a 45 minute private at GBP 80, and adult group lessons at GBP 35. One to one assessments are available for those wanting a clear starting point before booking regular sessions.
The school welcomes beginners and children, alongside more experienced riders returning to the saddle or looking to build confidence across different disciplines. Tuition is offered in dressage, show jumping and cross country, and riders can take their skills out of the arena on organised hacks, private hacks and themed pub rides. Corporate and team building days and riding retreats extend the offering to groups looking for something beyond standard lessons.
Facilities include an outdoor arena for flatwork and jumping, stabling for the school horses and ponies, and a car park for visitors. The South Downs location provides a direct route onto bridleways and open downland, making it well suited to riders who want to combine arena work with time spent out hacking.
The Stables at Cissbury is listed on the British Horse Society approved register and is licensed by Arun District Council. The school sits at BN14 0SR in Worthing, West Sussex, and is open Monday to Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, with weekend sessions from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. Contact details can be obtained through the Cissbury Estate office or by visiting the school directly during opening hours.
