Forest Farm Riding School

Forest Farm Riding School & Livery operates from Mannings Heath, a village just to the south of Horsham in West Sussex. The school runs a varied programme of group, shared and private riding lessons alongside more relaxed activities such as pony days, lead rein sessions and pony parties for children. Hacking is offered through guided village hacks and hack assessments, and riders looking for a more focused challenge can take part in jumping clinics run on site.

Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome. Beginners are taken through structured lessons, with lead rein sessions giving younger children a safe introduction to riding. More experienced riders can take advantage of show jumping, cross country schooling and group or private sessions aimed at progressing their skills. Pony days and holiday camps provide a full day of riding and stable management for children, while pony parties are available for birthdays and similar celebrations. The school also offers stable management and riding rosette awards, giving pupils achievable goals as they build their knowledge.

The facilities include a large outdoor arena and a smaller school for less experienced riders or those working on specific exercises, together with a cross country schooling course set across the surrounding farmland. Forest Farm is set in a rural part of the South East, with quiet country lanes and tracks accessible directly from the premises, making it well suited to riders who want to enjoy hacking away from busier roads.

Practical information for visitors: the postcode is RH13 6JF. Forest Farm Riding School holds a 5-star riding establishment licence from Horsham District Council and is associated with the Association of British Riding Schools. Lessons start from GBP 25 for a 15 minute lead rein session. Full livery services are offered alongside the riding school, so owners looking for yard space can be accommodated. Anyone interested in booking lessons, hack assessments or livery should contact the school directly for current availability.
