Buckhurst Farm

Kent

Buckhurst Farm is a licensed riding school based in Kent, with the everyday character of a busy, working yard. Riders can choose from group and private lessons, with instruction shaped to a wide range of ages and abilities. Lead rein pony rides are available for the youngest riders, while older children and adults can work through flatwork, dressage and show jumping on a more structured basis.

Teaching covers beginners through to riders preparing for British Horse Society qualifications, with BHS Stage 1, 2, 3 and Preliminary Teaching Test training offered on site. Stable management tuition runs alongside the ridden work, giving pupils a rounded grounding in horse care. The school welcomes children and runs holiday own-a-pony days, providing an opportunity to spend extended time with the ponies outside of term time.

The facilities include an outdoor arena, a show jumping paddock and a cross country paddock, allowing lessons and schooling to be varied across the different disciplines. Off-road hacking is offered through nearby countryside, and the centre also arranges pub rides, fete and event pony rides, and pony parties for birthdays and special occasions. A minerus serves the site and there is parking available for visitors.

Buckhurst Farm holds a licence from Wealden District Council, which is worth noting as the location sits in Kent but the licence is issued by the neighbouring authority. Anyone interested in booking lessons, pony parties or holiday activities should contact the school directly to check availability, lesson times and current prices.
