Cornilo Riding is a British Horse Society five star approved riding school and livery yard situated in Sutton-by-Dover, Kent. The school caters for riders from complete beginners through to those working towards BHS exams, with structured tuition and on-site BHS assessments available. Group, private and school bookings are all accepted, and stable management lessons form part of the teaching programme.
Children and adults are equally well served, with dedicated children's lessons starting from GBP 29 for a one hour group session. Pony Club centre membership is offered, along with holiday pony days and birthday parties. An RDA group operates from the yard, making the school accessible to riders with additional needs. Young riders can work through the BHS progressive riding tests and challenge awards, giving them a clear progression route.
Facilities include a small indoor school measuring 20m by 20m, a 40m by 20m outdoor sand school, and a grass dressage arena that can be extended up to 60m by 20m. Over 40 permanent cross country jumps are spread across 10 acres of land, with a separate show jumping paddock also available. A heated tack room, kitchenette, toilet and handwashing facilities, and a summer gazebo are on site for client comfort.
The yard stabling accommodates 9 horses and ponies, with tie-ups for a further 15, supporting the working, assisted and DIY livery packages on offer. Hacking is possible directly from the property via bridlepaths and green roads. Disciplines taught include dressage, show jumping, cross country, hacking and polo. The school is licensed by Dover District Council. For enquiries, lessons are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with Pony for a Day sessions running on Wednesdays from 10am to 4pm during Kent school holidays.
