Balcurvie Riding School operates from Windygates in Fife and welcomes riders from the age of four upwards. Lessons are available in both private and group formats, making the school a practical choice for complete beginners as well as those returning to the saddle. Coaches cover dressage and show jumping alongside general riding skills, so pupils can build a rounded foundation or focus on a preferred discipline.
Hacking is a particular draw, with direct access to bridleways leading out into open countryside. Riders can take escorted hacks through the surrounding Fife landscape, offering a change of pace from arena work and a chance to build confidence out in the open. The school also runs birthday parties and dedicated pony days, which give younger riders a structured introduction to horses and ponies.
The facilities include an outdoor arena fitted with rubber flooring, which provides a consistent and forgiving surface for lessons in all conditions. An on-site classroom is used for the theoretical side of riding, covering topics such as horse care and equipment. The combination of arena schooling and countryside hacks allows the school to vary its teaching across different settings.
Group and birthday party sessions start from £10 per person, and the school holds equestrian show events throughout the year for pupils who want to put their skills into practice. Holiday camps are also offered during school breaks. Anyone interested in booking lessons, pony days or events can contact Balcurvie Riding School directly for the current schedule and availability.
