Witherslack Hall Equestrian Centre

Set within 2500 acres of woodland on a private Lake District estate, Witherslack Hall Equestrian Centre provides a range of livery and riding holiday services to horse owners from across the North West. The centre holds British Horse Society approved intake status and is licensed, offering a structured base for those looking to keep their horses in a managed rural setting close to the coast at Grange-over-Sands.

Three livery tiers are available: DIY, part livery, and full livery, with further options for assisted, retirement, and rehabilitation needs. Riders and owners visiting on holiday can stay in on-site bed and breakfast accommodation and take advantage of learn to ride intensive weeks and children's residential camps during school holidays. The centre no longer offers horse hire for lessons or hacking, so visitors are required to bring their own horse.

Riding on and around the estate covers hacking, trail riding, and trekking, with disciplines supported including dressage, show jumping, eventing, showing, hunting, and carriage driving. Mobile cross country fences can be set out on the woodland ground. Facilities include a 25x45 metre sand and rubber outdoor arena, indoor courtyard stables, a horse walker, hot and cold horse showers, an all weather winter turnout paddock, rug washing and drying equipment, a tack room, show jumps, and tea and coffee facilities alongside a toilet for clients.

The centre is located in Witherslack, postcode LA11 6SD, within the Westmorland and Furness area of Cumbria. Opening hours run from 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. A saddle fitting service is also offered on site. Owners interested in livery, a riding holiday, or arranging a visit are advised to contact the centre directly for current pricing and availability.
