Stewarton Polo Club

Stewarton Polo Club operates as an exclusive members polo club on the outskirts of Edinburgh, drawing riders from across the Lothians and beyond. The club provides structured polo lessons alongside hacking and livery services, creating a venue that covers both competitive and recreational equestrian interests. Lessons run four days a week, allowing riders to plan a regular training schedule around work or study commitments.

Riders of all abilities are catered for at the club, from complete beginners working through their first stick-and-ball sessions to experienced players looking to refine their game. The teaching programme is designed so that newcomers can build confidence on horseback before progressing to mallet work, while more established players benefit from regular practice and match play opportunities. Pony hire is available for those without their own horse, making the sport accessible to anyone curious about trying polo without an immediate commitment to ownership.

Facilities extend beyond the polo field, with hacking available on surrounding routes for riders wanting a quieter ride, and livery offered for owners seeking full or part-time stabling for their polo ponies. The club also lists polo ponies for sale and runs an equifit programme aimed at keeping horses tuned to the demands of the sport. As a licensed establishment, Stewarton Polo Club meets the regulatory standards required for riding schools operating in Scotland, giving visitors confidence in the safety and welfare standards on site.

Members and visitors travel to the club via South Queensferry, with the postcode EH52 6QJ guiding those approaching by road. Its location keeps it within easy reach of Edinburgh while retaining the open space needed for polo grounds and turnout. Those interested in lessons, pony hire, livery or membership can contact the Stewarton Polo Club office directly for current availability, lesson timetables and joining details.
