Poppyfield Equestrian Centre

Poppyfield Equestrian Centre is a BHS Approved riding school and Pony Club Centre based in Branston, Lincolnshire, established in 1996. Riders can choose from group and private lessons, with separate provision available for beginners and children. The centre runs Pony Club activity days and BHS badge and examination days, making it a regular stop for young riders working through structured Pony Club and BHS programmes. Coaching covers dressage, show jumping and hacking, giving a balanced mix of arena schooling and ridden work out on local routes.

The facilities are set up for year-round riding. A floodlit indoor arena measuring 42m x 22m with a wax surface allows lessons to continue in poor weather and during shorter winter days, while a 60m x 28m outdoor arena with a rubber, all-weather surface is used for jumping and flatwork. A full set of jumps and poles supports show jumping lessons, and a viewing area lets friends and family watch sessions in comfort. Hacking and trekking are available directly from the yard, taking riders out onto the surrounding Lincolnshire countryside.

Beyond lessons, Poppyfield operates as a working livery yard, with horse training offered for owners who want extra schooling for their horses. The arenas can be hired for independent schooling or clinics, and the on-site shop covers everyday rider needs. Own a Pony Days run during school holidays, giving children a hands-on introduction to caring for and riding a pony.

Practical details for visitors are straightforward. The centre is open seven days a week, with bookings taken for lessons, arena hire and Pony Club activities. The full address is LN4 1QQ in Branston, within the East Midlands. As a BHS Approved riding school and Approved Pony Club Centre, Poppyfield meets the standards of both organisations for safety, teaching and horse welfare. Anyone interested in lessons, livery or activity days is encouraged to contact the centre directly to check availability and current pricing.
