Mill House Riding Centre

Set across 210 acres of North East countryside near Stockton-on-Tees and within easy reach of Durham and Hartlepool, Mill House Riding Centre operates as both a riding school and a livery yard. The site caters to a wide range of riders, with group lessons, private tuition, lunge lessons and jumping sessions on the timetable, alongside hacking routes through the surrounding land. Beginners are welcomed, and the centre teaches children as well as older riders starting out.

Two indoor arenas sit on the property, one of them Olympic sized, giving the school an all-weather teaching space alongside a floodlit outdoor arena. Off-road hacking is available directly from the yard, and the centre has on-site coach parking, a picnic area and vending machines for visitors. Pony days and holiday camps run during school breaks, and birthday parties can be arranged using the centre's ponies. Pony Club activities are also part of the calendar.

Hat hire is offered for those without their own equipment, and gift vouchers are available. Beyond the riding school side, the yard provides livery services, takes horses for sale on consignment and advertises volunteer opportunities for people wanting to spend time around horses. Prices start from GBP 25 for a Semi Private 30 minute lesson in groups of two to four, or for the Tiny Tots 30 minute session.

Mill House Riding Centre is staffed by BHS trained personnel and holds RDA membership along with the RDA Accessibility Mark, reflecting provision for riders with additional needs.
