Kirkton Riding Centre provides a broad programme of equestrian activities for riders across Aberdeenshire and the wider region. Lessons are available alongside hacking, pony rides and school holiday pony camps, catering to complete beginners as well as more experienced riders. Children are actively taught, with the centre holding Pony Club Centre status and running regular club activities. Group and individual sessions are offered across the disciplines of dressage, show jumping and cross country, giving pupils the chance to develop a well rounded skill set under qualified supervision.
The school welcomes riders of all ages and abilities, from young children enjoying their first sit on a pony through to adults returning to the saddle. Hacking is available on local routes, and pony camps during the school holidays give children the chance to spend time with the horses in a structured setting. Visiting instructor clinics are arranged for those wishing to broaden their training. Livery is also provided for owners seeking full DIY arrangements, with a practical range of on site facilities to support day to day horse care.
Facilities at Kirkton Riding Centre include both an indoor arena and an outdoor sand arena, with floodlighting in place to extend riding hours through the darker months. There is a grass jumping arena for working over poles and fences, a horse walker, tack rooms, feed rooms and a judge's box for competitions. Lorry and trailer storage is available, fencing is horse safe and a quarantine system is in operation. A cafe on site provides refreshment for riders, spectators and visiting parents.
The centre is accredited as a Pony Club Centre and offers a number of additional services including arena hire, an adopt a pony scheme and pony rides for younger visitors. Prices start from around GBP 10 for a short pony ride. For further information on lessons, livery, clinics or the holiday camp programme, contact Kirkton Riding Centre directly.
