Wardhaugh Farm Riding Centre

Set on the banks of the River Deveron in rural Aberdeenshire, Wardhaugh Farm Riding Centre combines a riding school, livery yard and Pony Club Centre on a single working farm near Huntly. The centre holds approval from the Association of British Riding Schools and is a Pony Club Centre, with BHS registered instructors on the team. It also carries ABRS approved livery yard status and is recognised by the Trekking and Riding Society of Scotland, giving riders a clear framework of professional standards across its teaching and horse care services.

Lessons form the core of what the centre does, with group sessions for children starting from GBP 22 for a 30 minute lesson. Beginners and younger riders are explicitly catered for, and group lessons are designed to build confidence in a structured setting. Hacking and trekking along the surrounding countryside are offered alongside show jumping work in the outdoor arena. Loan a pony days give children the chance to spend time caring for and riding a specific pony, and the centre hosts holiday camps and birthday parties throughout the year. Specialist rides are available for those looking for a particular experience on the trails.

The facilities are centred on a sizeable outdoor arena used for flatwork and jumping lessons. The site also includes stabling for school horses and liveries, a small shop for essentials, and space for school hire by outside instructors or groups. The Tremuda and wider Deveron valley provide miles of off road hacking straight from the yard, which makes the trekking and hacking side of the business a natural fit for the location.
