Set on a 27-acre site near York, Hallingbury Hall Equestrian Centre operates as a hire-based venue for riders, drivers and event organisers. The centre is home to the Camden Standard Bred Stud and York Harness Raceway, making it one of the few facilities in the East of England combining a riding school offering with a dedicated harness racing venue. Lessons and training span dressage, show jumping, working hunter and harness racing, giving visitors a broad choice of equestrian disciplines under one roof.
The centre caters to private bookings, training clinics and rallies, and welcomes groups looking for a venue that can host larger events. Agility events, dog shows, tractor, wagon and car rallies are all part of the calendar, alongside dressage and show jumping competitions. The site is also available for private celebrations and birthday parties, and a self-catering area plus on-site bar provide practical support for groups spending the day at the yard.
Riding facilities include a 40x40 metre outdoor arena and a larger 70x55 metre outdoor arena, both equipped with show jumps and dressage markers. A half-mile all-weather track is suitable for harness work and schooling, while 15 acres of grassland offer additional space for hacking and schooling. Sixty stables are available, either for liveries or for stabling hire during competitions and events. Hard-standing parking, toilets and a grandstand for spectators round out the practical amenities.
The centre is accredited with the British Harness Racing Club (BHRC), reflecting its role as an established harness racing venue. Visitors travelling from across Essex and the wider East of England will find the site straightforward to reach by road, with ample parking on site.
