Arkenfield Stables operates from a purpose-built equestrian centre set in the Nottinghamshire countryside, with facilities designed around both training and competition. Riders can take lessons at the centre, and the team works with children as well as adults. The venue also runs a Pony Club, providing younger riders with structured activities, badges and competitions within a familiar club framework.
Five core disciplines are on offer: dressage, show jumping, cross country and arena eventing, with the cross country course giving riders a chance to tackle fixed fences on grass. Both affiliated and unaffiliated competitions are hosted at the centre, and entries can be submitted online. Riders who want extra input can book training clinics, while those bringing their own horses can choose from the livery services available on site. The yard is a BHS approved livery yard.
The arenas give year-round riding options. The indoor school measures 72x40 with a Combi-Ride wax track, and there is a covered 20x60 arena for colder days or focused schooling sessions. Outdoors, a 60x40 arena with an Andrew Bowen surface handles everyday work and competition warm-ups, with judges boxes in place for events. Floodlighting extends riding hours, and extras include a lunge pen, solarium, hard standing car parking and trailer or lorry parking for visiting competitors.
On-site amenities include Dawn's Delights cafe and The Tack Loft shop, so riders can grab refreshments or pick up essentials without leaving the centre. Livery clients and facility users can access the site from 7.00am to 8.30pm, seven days a week, while the office is staffed from 9.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday for enquiries about lessons, livery, competitions or arena hire.
