Located on the grounds of Sidcot School in Winscombe, Sidcot Equestrian Centre operates as both a riding school and a full livery yard. The centre caters primarily to Sidcot School students, including day, boarding and junior pupils, while also welcoming external riders through its sister operation, Urchinwood Riding Stables. Lessons are available on school horses or on a rider's own horse, with group sessions starting from GBP 29 per hour and private tuition offered alongside.
Riders of all ages and abilities are taught, with beginners and children forming a core part of the centre's lesson programme. Tuition is offered across arena eventing, dressage and show jumping, and pupils can work towards British Horse Society exams as well as British Showjumping Just for Schools (BS JFS) and National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) competitions. Competition training is provided for those looking to compete, and clipping, exercising and schooling, farrier services and horse transport can all be arranged through the centre.
The facilities include a 30x40 metre floodlit outdoor arena equipped with British Showjumping jumps, a horse walker, a solarium and a hot shower. Off-road hacking is available directly from the yard, giving riders the chance to take lessons or hacks out into the surrounding North Somerset countryside. Day livery and full livery packages are offered, and equine tutorials and overnight stays are available for school boarders and liveries.
Full livery, day livery and overnight stays can all be booked through the centre, alongside riding lessons and competition training. Sidcot Equestrian Centre holds a verified listing on the British Horse Society approved register and is accredited with the BHS, BS JFS and NSEA. The postcode for the centre is BS25 1PD, and enquiries can be made by contacting the centre directly via Urchinwood Riding Stables.
