Sains Hall School of Equitation operates as a family-run riding school in Great Totham, Maldon, Essex. Instruction is offered to adults and children across a range of abilities, with beginners very much part of the school's intake alongside more experienced riders.
Lessons are available in both private and group formats, and the school also runs pony days during school holidays, providing a full day of mounted activities for younger riders. Pony Club sessions take place on Thursdays from 4pm to 5pm at the centre, which holds Pony Club linked centre status.
Riding takes place in an outdoor arena, and hacking is available on local lanes and bridleways for riders who want to take their education out of the school and onto open country. The teaching programme covers dressage, show jumping and eventing, alongside general hacking and pleasure riding. Prices start from GBP 30 for a 30-minute group lesson for three or more riders, and assessment lessons are offered so that new arrivals can be placed at the right level. Holiday camps run during school breaks.
