Set in Church Hanborough close to Witney and Oxford, Pigeon House Equestrian operates as a livery yard, riding school and Pony Club Centre on more than 40 acres of pasture. Riders of all ages can take lessons in dressage, show jumping and cross country, and the school welcomes both beginners and children. Adult pony days are also available for those returning to the saddle or trying riding for the first time.
The facilities include a floodlit all-weather arena, a grass show jumping area and dedicated dressage and cross-country training areas. Hacking is offered on surrounding lanes and bridleways, making use of the rural Oxfordshire setting. Lessons are arranged by appointment, with private and semi-private sessions running Tuesday to Saturday and group lessons held on Saturdays. A 45 minute group lesson with more than two riders starts from GBP 40.
Beyond riding tuition, the yard provides a full range of livery services, including short-term livery, horse purchase assistance and rehabilitation for horses returning to work. The site has stabling alongside the pasture and arenas, so liveries and lesson horses are kept on site. As a Pony Club Centre, Pigeon House also hosts Pony Club activities for younger members who want to work towards Pony Club tests and badges in a structured environment.
Pigeon House Equestrian is licensed by West Oxfordshire District Council and holds Pony Club Centre status. The postcode is OX29 8AB. Anyone interested in lessons, hacks or livery should contact the yard directly to book, as all private and semi-private sessions are by appointment.
