Liege Manor Equestrian Centre
Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan
Liege Manor Equestrian Centre operates from a rural site in Bonvilston on the outskirts of Cardiff, within the Vale of Glamorgan. The centre holds a place on the British Horse Society approved register and serves as an approved Pony Club centre, providing structured tuition alongside more informal riding opportunities for visitors.
Lessons are offered to riders of all ages and abilities, including complete beginners and young children. Group and private sessions run throughout the week, with teaching available in dressage, show jumping, eventing and cross country. Career training is provided for those working towards BHS exams, while competition training, clinics and a horse schooling and breaking service support riders aiming to progress. A loan scheme, pony days and birthday parties are also available, giving younger or less experienced riders a chance to spend time around horses without committing to a full course.
The facilities include a 20x60m outdoor school, a 20x40m indoor riding school and a 25x45m indoor school fitted with mirrors. There are 40 stables, a five-horse walker, a Claydon round pen, loose-housing pens and storage areas for liveries, plus cross country fields for schooling over fences. The clubhouse and Pony Pantry cafe provide somewhere to watch lessons, meet friends or grab refreshments during a visit. Holiday camps run during school breaks, giving children intensive time in the saddle.
Livery packages are available in several formats, including competition and breaking or schooling options. The yard is open from 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday and from 7.00am to 6.00pm at weekends, with lesson times running from early afternoon into the evening on weekdays and from 9.00am on Saturdays and Sundays. The postcode is CF5 6TQ, with parking available on site for cars and trailers.
