Lessons at Hunters Equestrian centre on classical horsemanship, with a strong emphasis on posture, biomechanics and soundness. Riders and owners can take part in one-to-one horse training, groundwork sessions, in-hand work and lungeing, alongside dressage training. The team also runs rider focused sessions designed to improve the person in the saddle as much as the horse, with online training sessions and virtual lessons available for those who cannot attend in person.
The facilities support a wide range of activities. A 20m x 60m silica sand, fibre and rubber floodlit arena with mirrors provides a year-round surface for flatwork, while a separate 20m x 25m floodlit lunge arena allows for focused individual work. An indoor arena gives further all-weather options. Stabling comprises ten internal loose boxes, including a foaling box, and horses benefit from automatic drinkers, all year round individual turnout and an exercise track around the land. Teaching infrastructure includes fillers, jump wings, a lecture room and a secure tack room, with equine obstacles on site for groundwork.
Beyond regular lessons, Hunters Equestrian offers clinics, short courses and holistic assessments, plus video consultations for remote clients. Rehabilitation programmes and further one-to-one packages are available for horses and riders needing a more structured approach, drawing on the classical and holistic training approach that underpins the centre.
The school sits in Gloucestershire in the South West of England, with ample parking for visitors. The centre combines classical training principles with practical, modern facilities, making it a suitable choice for riders interested in dressage and groundwork as well as owners seeking assessment or rehabilitation support for their horse. Contact details can be obtained directly from the school for current lesson availability, clinic dates and course bookings.
