Green Meadow Riding Centre

Green Meadow Riding Centre has been teaching riders in the Aberdare valley since 1977 and operates as a British Horse Society approved and Riding for the Disabled Association registered centre. The school is based within Dare Valley Country Park, giving direct access to off-road hacking routes through the surrounding Welsh countryside. Lessons are open to all abilities, with separate provision for beginners, children and school groups, and structured Pony Club activities through its Pony Club Centre status.

Riders can choose from individual or group lessons, with dedicated children's courses that introduce pony care as well as ridden work. Pony Club fun days run during school holidays, and birthday parties can be arranged on site for groups looking for an active celebration. The centre also runs regular disabled riding sessions as part of its RDA registration, working with riders who need adapted instruction or supported horses.

Facilities include a sizeable outdoor arena with a selection of jumps for schooling, stables and grazing land for the horses kept on site, and full livery is offered for owners wanting their horse looked after on a daily basis. There is a small animal farm and a play area on site, making it straightforward for families to spend time at the yard beyond the riding itself. A cafe and a tack shop are both available, alongside toilets and welfare space for visitors.

The centre sits within Dare Valley Country Park near Aberdare in Rhondda Cynon Taf, postcode CF44 8UG. Riders and visitors can travel by car to the country park, with parking available on site near the stables. Anyone wanting to book lessons, enquire about livery, or find out about Pony Club, RDA or school group sessions should contact Green Meadow Riding Centre directly through their website or by phone.
