Golden Cross Equestrian Centre is a licensed riding school based on a 250-acre farm in East Sussex, within the South East of England. The centre runs group and semi-private riding lessons as well as one-to-one tuition, with a standard 30-minute group lesson or hack priced from GBP 25. Lessons cover a wide range of disciplines including dressage, show jumping, eventing, cross country, flatwork, polework and hacking, giving riders the chance to build a varied skill set under instruction.
Riders from the age of 3 upwards are catered for, and the school teaches complete beginners through to more experienced riders. Children can take part in pony days, skills days, masterclasses and summer camps during the school holidays. The centre also hosts birthday parties and corporate events, making it a practical choice for families and groups. Groundwork sessions and stable management lessons are available for those wanting to learn more about horse care alongside riding.
The 250-acre farm provides extensive hacking and cross-country opportunities, supported by on-site paddocks and stabling. Lessons are offered from Monday to Thursday between 8:00am and 7:00pm and on Saturdays from 8:00am to 6:00pm. The office is open Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm and on Saturdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The school is closed on Fridays and Sundays. The team holds the CEVAS qualification, which supports their work with school and community groups on the yard.
Discipline days covering dressage, show jumping and cross country are available from GBP 10 per person. For those looking for a longer hack or a more tailored session, private and semi-private lessons can be arranged outside the standard group timetable. Visitors are advised to contact the centre directly through the office to confirm availability, book a slot, and discuss the most suitable lesson or activity for their experience level.
