CHD Equestrian operates from a fully licensed riding establishment in Oxford, Oxfordshire, and is approved by the British Horse Society as both a riding centre and livery yard. The school is also licensed by Winchester City Council, providing riders and horse owners with regulated standards of welfare and safety. Lessons are open to children from the age of four and extend through to adult riders, making the venue suitable for families as well as individual learners.
The centre caters for beginners through to more experienced riders, with group, semi-private and private lessons all available. Riders can work towards BHS qualifications through structured training, and younger or less confident participants can join the Saddle Club or the BHS Changing Lives Through Horses programme. Holiday camps and birthday parties are offered during school breaks, giving children the chance to spend time around horses in a supervised setting.
Facilities include a large indoor arena with mirrors, a Martin Collins eco-track surface and an outdoor arena of olympic size. There is a dedicated showjumping paddock, secure tack rooms and storage areas, plus lorry parking for those transporting their own horses. Hacking is available directly on site around surrounding farmland, providing off-road riding away from traffic.
Disciplines taught at the school include dressage, hacking and show jumping, with unaffiliated dressage competitions held periodically. Livery services range from DIY to full, supporting owners who want their horses kept on site alongside regular lesson activity. CHD Equestrian is closed on Mondays. Opening hours are Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 to 19:30, Wednesday and Friday 10:00 to 20:00, and Saturday and Sunday 09:00 to 17:00. The postcode for visitors and enquiries is OX3 9UH.
