Barnsley Riding for the Disabled Association

Barnsley

Lessons and hacking form the core of the riding school in Barnsley, with a programme that welcomes beginners and children alongside more experienced riders. Group tuition, private tuition and dedicated pony days give younger riders a structured introduction to horse care and ridden work. Trail riding and trekking rides are also available, taking riders out into the surrounding countryside.

The school is set within a converted stable block and offers year-round riding thanks to a covered arena. Riders can make use of an outdoor show jumping arena and a cross country course, giving plenty of variety for those looking to build skills across disciplines including hacking, show jumping and cross country. Stabling on site supports the horses kept at the centre.

Sessions are organised so that nervous beginners, younger children and those returning to riding can all find a suitable starting point. Group lessons provide a sociable way to learn, while private tuition allows for one-to-one coaching at the rider's own pace. Pony days during school holidays give children a fuller day of mounted and stable-based activity.

Barnsley Riding for the Disabled Association is based in Barnsley, in the Yorkshire and the Humber region. Riders interested in lessons, hacking or pony days should contact the centre directly to enquire about current availability, session times and any specific requirements they may have.
