Sunnybank Equestrian Centre is a British Horse Society approved riding school and livery yard set in Rudry, on the outskirts of Caerphilly in South Wales. Lessons are taught indoors, making lessons suitable in any weather, and the centre caters to riders from beginners through to more established competitors. Group and semi-private sessions start from GBP 30, with assessments and progression rides charged at GBP 34, and teaching runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Children are welcome from the age of 5 upwards, and the centre holds Pony Club centre status. Activities include Pony Club sessions, pony days, BHS training and exams, road safety training, apprentice training on a Haddon approved yard, and training clinics. Outreach college courses are run with Coleg Gwent, giving students a pathway into the equestrian industry. The centre also teaches working hunters and runs competitions across showjumping, dressage, showing, eventing and cross country, with both affiliated and unaffiliated formats on offer.
Facilities at the yard include a 30 x 60 metre indoor arena, a covered warm up arena, an outdoor arena, and a cross country course incorporating arena cross country and indoor eventing. Riders benefit from mirrors in the school, a solarium, a horse walker, a seating gallery, and a lorry park for visitors attending events. There is full stabling for liveries and ponies, with grazing in outdoor fields and three tiers of livery available: assisted, part and full. A veterinary clinic and facility hire are also available on site.
Located in Rudry near Caerphilly, postcode CF83 3DT, the centre holds British Dressage and British Showjumping competition venue status alongside its Pony Club centre approval. Hacks out from the yard take riders through the surrounding Welsh countryside.
