Springbridge Carriage Driving Centre

Lessons at this Stockport riding school are available as group, private and semi-private sessions, with weekday group lessons starting from GBP 20. Riders of all ages and stages are catered for, including complete beginners and children. The school teaches across a broad range of disciplines, including dressage, show jumping, cross country, showing, gymkhana and hacking, so riders can work through British Riding Club style activities as well as more traditional flatwork and jumping.

Beyond the lesson diary, the centre runs a full programme of activities for younger riders. Pony rides are on offer for children, and the school hosts birthday parties in both an outdoor party area and a purpose built indoor party area, making it a practical choice in the British weather. Stable management sessions, horse care and management courses, and hat hire are all available on site, so those new to horses can learn the practical side of equestrian care alongside their riding.

Hacking is a regular part of the offering, giving riders the chance to take their horses or ponies out of the arena and into the surrounding countryside. Those looking to compete can take part in the centre's own competitions, and the timetable includes walkouts for riders who want a quieter experience with their equine partner. With disciplines stretching from gymkhana games to dressage tests, there is room for both recreational riders and those with competitive goals.

The school sits in Offerton within the Greater Manchester area and operates seven days a week, with reduced hours during school term time on Wednesdays. Contact details and lesson bookings can be arranged directly through the centre. Prices start from GBP 20 for a 30 minute weekday group lesson, and the team is happy to advise on the right session for a first time rider or a returning enthusiast.
