Set in Waunfawr near Caernarfon, Snowdonia Riding Stables operates as a British Horse Society approved centre and a Pony Club approved centre, making it a practical choice for riders at different stages of their education. The school teaches from complete beginner level up to BHS Stage 3, with group and individual lessons available for children and adults. Children's group lessons are priced from GBP 20 per person on Saturdays, giving younger riders an accessible starting point.
Instruction takes place across two outdoor arenas: a 20 metre by 40 metre flexiride arena suited to general schooling, and a 25 metre by 60 metre sand arena fitted with show jumps for jumping and flatwork sessions. Riders can focus on dressage, show jumping and hacking, with lesson content shaped to the rider's ability and aims. Training clinics are held for those wanting more intensive input on a particular discipline.
Beyond the arenas, the stables run guided pony treks and mountain rides that take advantage of the surrounding Snowdonia landscape, giving visitors a different perspective on the area from the saddle. Hacking is offered as both a standalone activity and as part of lesson programmes. For independent riders, arena hire and gift certificates are available, and the school is also a North Wales Tourism member.
The stables are located at Waunfawr, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL55 4PQ, with easy access from the A4085 and the Caernarfon bypass. Enquiries about lessons, treks, clinics or arena hire can be made by contacting the school directly, and bookings for children's Saturday group lessons are recommended in advance during peak periods.
