Poplars Farm Riding School

Stoke-on-trent, Somerset

BHS approved

Poplars Farm Riding School operates from Stoke-on-Trent in the South West and holds a place on the British Horse Society approved register. Lessons are available to riders of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners through to more experienced competitors. The centre delivers group, shared and private lessons, with a 30 minute group session priced from GBP 22. Instruction is provided by BHS approved instructors and the school is a member of the Riding for the Disabled Association, offering RDA sessions alongside mainstream lessons.

Children are welcomed at the school, making it a suitable starting point for younger riders taking their first lessons. Adults returning to the saddle or looking to develop a particular discipline will find a structured programme covering dressage, show jumping, eventing, showing and hacking. Group sessions allow riders to learn alongside peers, while private and shared lessons offer more focused coaching for those working towards specific goals. The mix of disciplines means pupils can move between flatwork, jumping and cross country style work depending on their interest.

The facilities include three outdoor floodlit arenas measuring 25x35, 20x40 and 25x50 metres, all finished with an all-weather surface and equipped with jumps. Hacking is available directly from the centre, giving riders the chance to take their horses out without the need to transport them elsewhere. Stabling is provided on site, supporting the DIY livery and working livery services that form part of the school's offering. The on-site Poplabee Stud also provides stud services for those breeding or seeking breeding advice.

Poplars Farm is located at postcode ST3 7NY. Opening hours run from 9:00 to 19:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, 9:00 to 20:00 on Wednesdays, 8:30 to 17:00 on Saturdays, and the centre is closed on Thursdays and Sundays. Anyone interested in lessons, livery or any of the other services should contact the school directly to discuss availability and current arrangements. Visitors are advised to confirm details in advance, particularly for weekday bookings outside core hours.
