Oakwood Park

Uckfield, East Sussex

Oakwood Park Polo Club sits in Uckfield, East Sussex, and runs polo programmes for riders at every stage of experience. Beginners are welcome, with structured group lessons designed to introduce the basics of the game in a supportive setting. More experienced players can book individual tuition, join practice chukkas, or take part in club tournaments held on the outdoor field.

The club operates two arenas. A 300m x 150m full-size outdoor polo field hosts practice chukkas on Wednesday evenings from 6pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm, with tournament play starting at 1pm on Saturdays. An indoor arena measuring 50m x 25m allows year-round training regardless of weather. Horse and equipment hire is available, so riders do not need to bring their own tack to take part in a session.

Beyond regular tuition, Oakwood Park runs polo experience days, corporate polo days, team building events and birthday parties. Gift vouchers are offered for those wishing to give polo as a present, and university training packages cater to student groups. Prices start from GBP 30 for an instructional chukka on the small field, GBP 50 per person for a one-hour group beginner polo lesson, and GBP 60 per person for a polo experience day. Picnic areas and on-site parking are provided for visitors spending the day at the club.

The school is affiliated with the Hurlingham Polo Association, reflecting its standing within the British polo community. Visitors travel to Uckfield in East Sussex, with the postcode TN22 2AQ for sat nav directions. Anyone interested in booking a lesson, chukka or experience day should contact the club directly to confirm availability and arrange their visit.
