Moorbridge Riding Stables operates as a riding school in Derby, welcoming riders across all abilities from complete beginners through to more experienced competitors. Lessons are available for adults and children, with structured group sessions forming a core part of the timetable. A Pony Club runs at the stables, giving younger riders the chance to work through recognised activities and badges alongside their regular mounted sessions.
The school covers the two main competition disciplines of dressage and show jumping, and riders who wish to take part in events can do so through the on-site competition programme. Hacking is offered on local routes, and walkabouts at GBP 25 for thirty minutes provide an introduction to being around horses for those who are not yet riding independently. Holiday camps run during school breaks, giving children focused time with the horses over a longer period.
Facilities at the yard include a 25m by 50m indoor arena, a 30m by 40m outdoor all weather arena and a 30m by 60m outdoor all weather arena, allowing lessons to continue regardless of weather. Supporting amenities include CCTV coverage, a horse walker, a round pen and stabling. The indoor space and outdoor arenas can be hired separately through the facility hire service, and riding clinics are held periodically for those wanting focused tuition. A horse transport service is also available for clients needing their horse moved.
Moorbridge holds BHS Approved status and ABRS accreditation, reflecting its standards of care and instruction. Livery is offered for owners wanting to keep their horses on site. The stables are located in Derby at DE73 6TT in the East Midlands. Opening hours are Wednesday to Friday from 11am to 6pm and Saturday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm, with Monday and Tuesday closed. Enquiries about lessons, livery or facility hire can be made by contacting the stables directly.
