Margaret Haes Riding Centre operates as a registered charity (number 1106437) from a site in Holcombe, Bury, with horse riding opportunities shaped around disabled riders and the wider local community. The centre holds BHS Approved Centre status and runs the British Horse Society's Changing Lives Through Horses programme alongside standard riding lessons and supervised hacks. Lessons for beginners and children are part of the regular offering, with concessionary small group sessions of up to four riders lasting thirty minutes priced from GBP 18 for those with additional needs or a disability.
The centre works with both able-bodied riders and riders with disabilities, providing group rides tailored for disabled participants, pony days and pony half days during school breaks, and stable management mornings for those wanting hands-on experience. Birthday parties are arranged around the horses and ponies, and structured holiday camps give children a chance to spend longer blocks of time at the yard. British Horse Society qualifications training and assessments are also delivered on site for candidates working towards coaching or other equestrian awards.
Facilities include an indoor school and an outdoor school, allowing lessons and group sessions to continue through most weather conditions, together with on-site stabling for the horses and ponies kept at the centre. Horse welfare courses are held periodically for owners and carers looking to improve their knowledge of care and handling.
Margaret Haes Riding Centre is listed on the British Horse Society approved register and is a licensed premises, located in the North West of England with the postcode BL8 4NX. Prospective riders, families and volunteers are encouraged to get in touch with the centre directly for current lesson times, hack availability, programme details and booking for pony days or birthday parties.
