Hole Farm Pony Trekking Centre sits within Woodgate Valley Country Park in Birmingham and operates as a British Horse Society approved centre. The centre provides riding lessons, hacks and pony trekking for riders aged four and upwards, making it accessible to complete beginners as well as those with some prior experience. Teaching covers hacking, show jumping and trekking, with the centre holding the relevant local authority licence.
Lessons are offered alongside a varied programme of activities designed to introduce younger or less experienced riders to horses. Pony mornings, lead rides, school trips and home educated groups are all part of the regular offering, and birthday parties can be arranged. For more confident riders, novice hacks and canter hacks are available subject to ability. Disabled rider sessions are provided, reflecting the centre's commitment to inclusive riding.
The facilities include an indoor riding arena with a seated gallery for spectators, an outdoor riding arena, and parking for visitors. Boot loan and helmet hire are available on site, which is helpful for those new to riding who do not yet own their own equipment. The location within Woodgate Valley Country Park gives direct access to off-road hacking through the surrounding green space, which is one of the centre's main draws.
Opening hours run from Tuesday to Sunday, with Mondays closed. Tuesday and Thursday sessions run from 09:00 to 17:00, Wednesday and Friday from 09:00 to 13:00, and weekend opening extends from 08:00 to 17:00 on both Saturday and Sunday. Prices start from GBP 17 for a 30 minute lead ride hack. Enquiries can be made by contacting the centre directly to book lessons, hacks or special events.
