Fir Tree Farm Equestrian Centre sits in Moss, Doncaster, and has built a long-standing reputation as a welcoming Yorkshire riding school. Lessons are available to riders of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners through to more experienced competitors. A BHSAI instructor leads the teaching programme, which is supported by a Riding and Road Safety examiner, so groundwork in safe riding practices is part of the offering alongside standard lessons. Taster sessions give first-time riders a short, low-cost introduction, while toddler sessions cater for the very youngest enthusiasts.
The centre runs group and private hacks across local countryside routes, allowing riders to put their schooling into practice away from the arenas. Show jumping and showing are the principal disciplines taught on site, and the calendar is rounded out with regular clinics, competitions and events. During school holidays, pony days and structured holiday camps give children a chance to spend extended time with the horses in a supervised setting. Private lessons are also available for those who want one-to-one tuition.
Facilities include outdoor arenas used for flatwork and jumping, turnout paddocks for the horses, and a tack room for storing equipment. An on-site equestrian shop stocks supplies for riders and their horses, and parking is available on site. Full livery is offered for owners who want their horse kept at the centre, and the team can also assist with horse sales for clients looking to buy or sell.
Located in the village of Moss in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, the centre is licensed by Doncaster Council and holds a 5-star council rating awarded in 2019. Opening hours run from 8.30am to 6.00pm, seven days a week. Group lessons start from GBP 28 for a half hour session. Enquiries about lessons, livery, pony days or the on-site shop can be made by contacting the centre directly using the postcode DN6 0EB.
